» History of La Vernia

The "Glass League" was an enormous tract of fertile territory which lies north west of La Vernia. This territory was owned by a man named Glass, he divided this land into separate farms and sold it to settlers. Today this territory includes about a dozen productive farms. There is also much pasture land including in this territory. Not one of the present day farms contain less than a hundred acres. Even though some of the land has been sold several times this vast territory is still often referred to as the "Old Glass League".
